STRUCTURE OF THE SKIN, SKIN LAYERS:
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Our skin is our largest and most versatile organ. It signals to the outside world youthful freshness and health or whether we are stressed, ill or tired. No other organ defines true beauty more than the skin. And yet in the course of life it is marked by wrinkles and signs of aging. Read more about the structure of the skin, the individual skin layers and how A⁴ COSMETICS can make you shine.

THE CURSE - SKIN BARRIERS TO THE OUTDOOR WORLD

The epidermis has the important task of protecting our skin from external influences - a kind of skin barrier. It comprises a total of five layers, the top three of which consist of dead, horny cells. An optimally moisturized epidermis looks young, smooth and healthy. However, if the barrier function is disturbed, skin irritations can result.

THE FURTHER STRUCTURE OF THE SKIN: THE LEATHER SKIN

The layer of skin under the epidermis is the dermis consisting of connective tissue. It provides the skin with elasticity and resilience. The dermis also contains small blood and lymph vessels, which ensure a nutrient-rich supply of the epidermis.

THE FINISHING LAYER OF THE SKIN - THE SUBCUTIS

Under the dermis lies the subcutis, which consists of connective tissue, blood and nerve vessels as well as fat cells. This special structure of the skin serves primarily as an energy store and cold protection. At the same time, the fat layer protects bones, muscles and joints from injuries.

IN WHICH SKIN LAYERS COSMETICS REALLY WORK

With increasing age, the body's own production of collagen peptides (ensure elasticity and resilience of the dermis) and ceramides (seal off the epidermis and supply collagen peptides with moisture) decreases. The skin becomes weak and wrinkles appear. In order to counteract skin ageing, these two substances should be added to the skin. However, the structure of the skin does not make it easy for many skin care products: the resistant epidermis often cannot be penetrated in order to supply the underlying skin layers accordingly.

Help your skin with the A⁴ IMPULSE® drinking ampoules from the inside out. Your unique A⁴ Cera Peptide Beauty Complex® penetrates deeper layers of the skin and brings the required micronutrients exactly where your skin needs them. Combined with the highly effective and natural ingredients of A⁴ COSMETICS care products, they also ensure beautiful skin from the outside.
